What schools did you turn down to come to Carleton?

I saw this question posted on other threads, so I thought I would post it here.

What schools did you turn down to attend Carleton?

U of Michigan to become a Knight WOOOOOOOt!

I turned down Bates

Pomona, Vassar, Macalester, Lawrence, Skidmore, and Fordham.

Boo yah Geoff! Are you doing OCS then?

Lol, yep, that’s the plan for two or three years from now. I think I can start doing it over the summer in between sophomore and junior years. Thanks for all the help texastaximom!

OK, I had to go back through the previous postings to figure out “OCS” - my first thought was Off Campus Studies!

Congratulations to all the new Carls - you will have an amazing time at Carleton.

My memory was jolted by ttmom, but hats off to her. I wouldn’t have put together this post of Geoff’s with the one about OCS vs. ROTC.

My son turned down U of Mich. too, as well as Oberlin and Earlham–which he really liked.

My daughter turned down Northwestern, Vanderbilt, and Grinnell, among others.
