What schools have been especially hard to get into based on your school/area feedback?

I go to a NE private. It’s more like a magnet school. High-ish stats kids only. Heavy Ivy feeder. Things I’ve noticed:

  • Heard about some high achiever kids not getting by into Boston College that maybe would have in prior years.
  • Kids in my area have done well at Clemson, which is usually viewed as a backup up here.
  • Ivies: no different than usual.
  • A few kids were surprised by how hard UGA is to get into. They viewed it as a backup and then got deferred.

What has everyone been surprised by that has you distraught or hopeful? What’s the talk in your school circles?

I think it’s very school and student specific…

Every year there are people who ‘mis-rate’ their kids.

I guess it’s different than my friend group trends. Surprised BC didn’t have an uptick in apps.
