<p>Yea… the top 40 schools in the nation are reaches for you. Not that you can’t get into them, they’re just very selective. For premedical studies, maybe try RIT. I heard that it had a 100% acceptance rating into med schools.</p>

<p>I take it Xuperdominican is a junior, since (s)he is looking for potential schools this late in the year. If that is the case, s(he) has plenty of time to study for, and retake the SAT. Even without a retake, s(he) still stands a very reasonable chance at many of the top 40 schools.</p>

28 ACT (1180 SAT but I didnt submit that), 5th/350, 96 GPA</p>
<p>everyone puts so much emphasis on SATs, but you can get into a good school with not as good SATs… it is really an overall package.</p>

<p>you have a good shot at a lot of schools, man. I’m not sure what schools are awesome in medicine though. Look into the non-HYP ivies you have a good shot at them.</p>
<p>Damn im not trying to bring back the whole AA into this thread i just really want to share my feelings. I know an online friend who goes to Bronx Science, the best school in the OP’s city, (im making the assumption that the OP’s school is inferior because of its size and location. no offense)…</p>
<p>But the point is that my friend has a 93 gpa and a 1400 sat, captain of volleyball team but because of the competition and the fact that he is white, he has only a 10% chance at the LOWEST ivy cornell. He is most likely going to get into u of rochester or suny. </p>

<p>Duke has a great medical school. Also, APPLY TO THE IVIES!!! You have a great chance of getting in, yes apply to Harvard. Your minority status will help. Good luck.</p>
<p>You have a pretty decent shot at some ivies, and the schools between 15-40 like Emory, etc should be a lock. Try to boost your SAT by like 50-75 pts by studying this summer, it will help. As is, its still not a deal breaker for you at all. Consider ED to a place like Penn, Brown, Dartmouth, or Cornell. Cornell will be the easiest to get into ED by far.</p>
<p>I’d suggest looking at LACs like Williams, Amherst, Swarthmore, Oberlin, Kenyon, Carleton.</p>
<p>why does everyone gotta say cornell is the easiest to get into… maybe statistically… but it is really dependent upon which school u choose… like penn, wharton is as hard to gain admittance as yale’s lit major… and cornell’s engineering is harder to get into than columbias seas… it all depends on ur major… sorry had to stick up for cornell (my dream school) haha</p>
<p>Its more the ED thing, cornell is the one school that really gives a boost ED and the accept rate ED is the highest by far, even in engineering. Cornell engineering is harder than Columbia seas.</p>
<p>I am a senior. applied to yale ea and so far to amherst, trinity and wesleyan. also looking at swarthmore and dartmouth as well as cornell. making all top 7 SUNY schools my safeties since you can just apply to them all on the same application.</p>
<p>Look at Fordham and Syracruse. I agree that you have a great shot at the Ivies if that’s what you want.</p>
<p>I dormed at Fordham for 3 years (upward bound program). did not like it, food sucks people suck, plus i want to get away from the Bronx.</p>
<p>Amherst/ Dartmouth are awesome. Look to Vassar as a match, its an amazing school and you have a good chance</p>
