What schools should I look at? NJ Resident, 92 UW GPA, 1280 SA, undecided major, maybe public health or political science

Will I be the only POC at Appalachian? :sob:

I also thought AU was harder to get into

I’ll look at fordham though

Apply and see. But really…I’d suggest one true sure thing be added to your list. What’s wrong with Rowan, for example?

I’d say Spelman is a target but not a safety. If you can reach a 30 on the ACT it would move to more of a safety/more likely to offer a scholarship.

It’s literally 10-15 minutes from my home and my mom goes there every weekend to give my siblings music lessons. A lot of state schools are :frowning: for me.

I also don’t think I’d thrive at a school like Penn state or Rutgers NB because of how big it is

So what? That doesn’t mean she will need to see you.

It’s ok to keep these schools….as long as you also include schools where acceptance is likely.

She most definitely would though. She’s talked about it and crazy enough to visit every single day.

i was going to EA to some schools and see what would happen from there

Rutgers NB is not a sure bet for you. It has become more competitive. I would take a look at Rowan as a safety, or a smaller SUNY.

So…you have multiple siblings in college? Are overall family costs a consideration at all?

Even in state? Everyone Ik gets in

That is ok, but you also need a likely school. That needs to be your focus.

No, I’m the oldest

I don’t think she’s worried about paying for all of us

If you plan to apply to Maryland, EA is the only way to go. They accept 90% or more of their incoming class in the EA round.

You very well might get in, but when I read the results this year it seems to have gotten more competitive. I believe they just added it to the commonapp. More apps?

Maryland would be a reach, but I think it’s fine to apply. Is it affordable?

American would be a target for you (especially if you hit 30 on the ACT) and is excellent for public policy or public health.

App State is 80% White. That’s roughly 3,500-4,000 non white kids but it’s definitely a PWI.
However, check out Wautega specifically - how does it look to you?

Denison Lugar scholars would be perfect for you - flexible for all your interests.

My mom also said no to Montclair state so that’s off the table I guess

So why does your parent come to Rowan weekly to teach your siblings? Is there a community music school or something.

With younger kids in the college pipeline, overall family ability to pay for all should be considered. My opinion.

What about Stockton?

Keep in mind that the University of Maryland is over $60,000 a year and costs will likely go up each year. Is your parent ok with this?

I would put Rowan on your list.
