I actually looked at it but I’m not sure if I’d like Colorado much. Ik that’s like a petty reason to not consider something but I tried finding TikTok/youtube videos of like what everyday life would be there.
They offer music lessons at Rowan. That’s why she’s there. Mostly private lessons.
Stocktons not much better it’s like 30 minutes. Right near my sisters private school. If my mom wants to visit me I’d rather it be inconvenient
Thank you for your consideration but I’d really rather not. There’s specific dynamics in my family that I really can’t be with her any longer that I’m not willing to share on the internet. Being far as possible will be better for my overall wellbeing.
The cost will be fine. She has properties, she’s saved up, and has other things that she intends to pay with. They also make decent money so they’ll be fine.

Yes
Drew could be a perfect safety though -to make it a safety, register interest through “join the mailing list” and simply click on a link that interests you in the email they sent.
What about Suny Geneseo? Small and relatively prestigious (you’d need an ACT 28+ to consider it a safety).
Same thing for West Chester (you’d likely qualify for Honors).
St Mary’s Honors College in Maryland (a public university) would be another safety. Far from everything, out on the water. No worry your mom would show up unannounced but not close to internships.
Denison is in Ohio. Lugar scholars is named after the former senator.
OP to send 3 kids to OOS and private schools …and no FA or scholarships, there needs to be a million dollars put away. I do not expect you to comment, but that is a tremendous amount of money that many do not have. You are very fortunate.
Now you need to find a few safety schools.
SUNY Geneseo is an excellent suggestion.
How about TCNJ? One of mine went there for business , didn’t even apply to Rutgers since he felt it was too large.
Everyone doesn’t get in, a few of my daughter’s friend with 3.4 uw TO were denied.
Add TCNJ - it’s a good hour’s drive from the rowan area so your mother wouldn’t be able to pop up
2 reports (direct visits)
I’ll look at these. I also saw Loyola Maryland. Is it like Villanova in which they don’t force you to learn theology other than a class or too? Is that considered a target or a safety?
Oh okay, I think I was looking at Colorado college at the same time and I got confused. I’ll look into Ohio
My mom drives A LOT. She took me to a private school and commuted nearly an hour one way every day. We go to Lancaster like every weekend casually and we used to drive to Harrisisburg for church every weekend. I think when it’s a 3-4 hour drive it starts to be a problem and she’ll only visit once in a blue moon
She actually took me to TCNJ for my brothers music completion. I liked the architecture a lot and the vibes of it. It’s just too close
My mom is not afraid of an hour drive
Really? Is it a by major thing or overall?
Take your mother out of the picture right now. She will not be driving to SUNY Geneseo for a surprise day trip. That is not happening.
Find 2 safeties that you would be happy attending.
I’m not sure of their majors, and I think even though TO Rutgers still likes a test score.
OP Rutgers NB is not a safety for you. It has recently gotten more competitive. This does not mean you will not get in, it just means you may not.
Try some of the SUNYs. As I mentioned…your mother wil not be popping in for a surprise visit.
Respectfully my mother will always be in the picture. If I get into a school like Rowan or TCNJ, I will frankly not be happy. I also want to stay away from rural schools unless there is a specific benefit or program I’m attending for. I’m sorry if it sounds like I’m being difficult but I just want to find somewhere that is suitable but she’d also let me attend.
Even if she personally doesn’t visit me, she’s close enough to people that she’ll send. I’m sorry if I’m frustrating you I just want to figure this out
It’s just too close :(. Maybe I should focus for safeties in the south, but I’m not sure how much being OOS hurts
