What schools should I look at? NJ Resident, 92 UW GPA, 1280 SA, undecided major, maybe public health or political science

No one lied. The award is 1/2 tuition. About.

I’ll lie to her and say it’s female Caltech. :sob:

I’ll dm you later though

This was all sounding like a good idea before I realized I was partially responsible.

How am I supposed to go from never working a day in my life to being half a million in debt

Not sure if there’s a suggestion box at college confidential but there should be a :skull: reaction role. It’s great when discussing financial aid

Why would you be in this much debt?

5.5k is $5,500, five thousands and five hundred dollars. Nowhere near half a million
If you work part time this summer and throughout next year (which would require your opening a bank account so you can deposit your checks or so the company can wire your paycheck) you should be able to make that much.

Isn’t grad school also like 100k a year?

Oh I meant in general. I’m also not allowed to work :sob:. I literally tried to get a job but my mom won’t let me

Grad school could be, depending on where you go, whether you get money, etc.

Right now you need to find a college.

I know. I just didn’t know that colleges were that stingy :pensive:

How will you be $500,000 in debt?

College is expensive. If you stay instate and attend a NJ public…it will be less.

Medical school…

You might not need grad school depending on your career choice…

Oh is that only unique to medical school? I wanted to do that but I’ve like changed my mind

Ive already explained why thats not an option multiple times. I’d rather be financially in debt then lose my will to live

You won’t be going to grad school for at least 5 more years. No way to predict what that will cost

If a gap year were to be considered, Americorp might be an option.
Basically just travel and housing expenses and small stipend for education later.

No it is not. My daughter is in grad school and some programs are over $90,000 a year. She does not attend one of those schools, by choice. You will also have choices.

I did not tell you to remain instate. I am simply telling you the differences in cost because you brought up the subject.

The direct loan amount I quoted above is the only loan you can get in your name only for undergrad.

Right now, grad students can take grad plus loans up to the cost of attendance. No way to know what that will be five years from now.

Please…get through high school. Apply and get accepted to an affordable college. Worry about grad school later.
