What schools will consider a 2.96 average transfer student?

I’m changing schools/majors late in the game - I’m 21 and have over 100 credit hours. My cumulative GPA at my current (state) school is a 2.96. However, failing classes my first semester at another school means my total GPA is a 2.64. (Not sure which one matters most?) My ACT was a 32, but I’m not sure that matters anymore at all.

I’m particularly interested in Bio, Microbiology, Zoology etc. Are there schools (NOT in Portland - my current city) where I should consider applying? Somewhere I could leverage my excellent writing skills, or perhaps a school that worships standardized test scores - even for transfers? I’m willing to go anywhere in the country.

Try looking at Idaho State University or Utah State University. These may not be big name schools but they are in a region of the country that has quite a bit of opportunity for Bio/MicroBio/Zoology majors.

Thanks for the tip. Do you think I have a good chance applying to Oregon State and U of Oregon? I’m at another state school in Oregon.

Arizona State University.

They’ll accept you. They accept almost anyone. Trust me, I applied as a freshman with a 2.4 GPA, no extracurricular activities, and less than average SAT scores, and I got in.

Of the top 150 universities in the country, ASU is probably the least selective.

Also, it has probably the best party scene in the country, if you’re into that.

Yeah I’ll pass

Actually I have a lot of choices. You and Jersey can take your preconceived notions to another thread.

FAU and FGCU.

Lavender is right about Florida Gulf Coast University - it’s a very perfect match for your major, lifestyle (not big party school), and who wouldn’t want Florida weather! The campus is a green campus and they have very new facilities that would be a good fit for your studies. The classes are smaller than most you’d find in other schools to.

i was gonna say ASU too but nvm, you can try any HBCU, hofstra, longwood, radford, http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/highest-acceptance-rate</a> this should apply for transfers too

Thank you based god.
