As a junior in high school, I’m trying to find schools that i’d be interested in attending, but i’m not very educated on what each college offers. Right now I have a UW GPA of 3.78, and W GPA of 4.55. I’ve taken the ACT once, and I got a 32… I’ve taken 5 AP’s (Biology-4, USH-5, Euro-3, English Lang-5, Psych-5). I’m taking 3 this year, and I’m scheduled to take 4 more during my senior year. I’m definitely interested in attending a school in an urban setting, but I also really like small liberal arts schools. I want to major in philosophy in hopes to attend law school in the future. So with all this being said, what schools would you recommend I look into considering my GPA and ACT?
Purely In terms of your academic interests and career aspirations, you would be well suited for a Claremont, such as CMC, or a NESCAC, such as Hamilton. Though note that while these schools might fit your basic statistics, they would nonetheless be very competitive in terms of admission. You would also need to consider that most liberal arts colleges would not match your preference for an urban setting (though a few do of course). If you are from Tennessee, this could heighten your chances of admission at colleges in the Northeast or on the West Coast.
University of Chicago. If you are female, Barnard.
