What scores should I report? (1500 SAT with 5/5/6 writing vs 32 super scored ACT with 31/36 writing)

I have taken the ACT twice and got a 31 composite each time, with a 32 super score (1st sitting= 35e 34r 29m 25s writing=31/36; 2nd sitting= 36e 31r 28m 29s writing=10/12)

I have also taken the SAT and have a 1500 (740r/w 760m writing: 5/5/6 )

I know that the 1500 is a stronger score percentile-wise, but the discrepancy between the writing scores worries me. My top 2 schools (Haverford and Carleton) do not require the writing section. Does that mean they won’t care about my not-so-great SAT writing score? I am considering self-reporting both my SAT and ACT scores on the common app so that the admissions officers will see that I’ve scored highly on writing sections in the past, as I do not think that my SAT writing score is an accurate reflection of my abilities. Would that be smarter than only reporting my SAT score?

I have no reasoned and logical argument for my advice here – perhaps another respondent will provide that for you. That said, I’d submit both the SAT and the ACT scores. My daughter applied to both Haverford and Carleton last year, with a 34 ACT (super scored as a 35) with a 9/12 Writing (old scoring). She is a freshman at Carleton, and she loves it there.

Thanks for the advice! I reported both and I was admitted to Carleton through early decision

Great, and welcome to the Carleton College family! Attend an accepted-students session this spring if both finances and time permit.
