What sensitive information should I BLACK out on my credit card statements?

HI parents!

I have a question and I thought that maybe you guys might be able to help me. After all, I think the advice of a bunch of parents will be better than searching the internet and not really finding anything!

I was in a car accident by an impaired driver and severely injured my shoulders.

My insurance will reimburse me but they need to see my credit card statements, amongst other things. I will scan it to them.

However, I’ve talked to people who worked in insurance companies before and believe me, those faxes are NOT always confidential.

What information should I block out on my credit card statements when I fax it to them?
I also need to fax a credit card statement to a retailer in order to get a refund. What information should I black out there?

thanks!!

I would black out everything except your name and street address and the charges that you want reimbursed. Make a copy first and then black out the copy before you fax/scan it; if you only mark up the copy, if they need more you can send more.

^ Good advice.
