What shoes or clothing do you hope to meet again in Heaven?

I would love to see my leather fringe “hippie” jacket, my suede hot pants, my Frye boots, and my custom made leather belt; never worn all together :)

I also had the white gogo boots and a John Romaine purse! I don’t remember the year for the boots, but the purse was 5th grade. I was a big tomboy and I think my mother was ecstatic that I wanted something girly so she was happy to oblige ;)

My coats. I had several great coats when I was in high school and college…a reversible fleece/suede, a white double breasted summer coat, a really nice camel hair dress coat, and several corduroy jackets.

Frye boots get a second from me. They have been reincarnated once by my bootmaker who resoled them, but I’m not sure how many lives they will have. Perhaps I’ll be buried in them to be sure they make the trip. That is, if we’re going in the same direction…

In the 4th grade I wore my polyester purple vest with Pom Pom fringe every Monday. My 8th grade educated immigrant grandmother commuted 2 hours everyday by bus to her job as a sales woman at Bambergers to get the employee discount to buy me whatever my heart desired. To this day I remember Grandma Edie and that vest whenever I wear purple!

Marian. I second the lab coat!

I still work in a micro lab and wear a ‘lab coat’ but these days they are horrible disposable impervious stiff scratchy plastic/polyester things. Awful!
I hope to meet my old soft white cotton lab coats from 30 years ago when I hopefully get to heaven. I remember my parents bought me my first one, embroidered with my name and credentials on the pocket; boy did I think myself cool.

I had a pair of Earth Shoes slingbacks that I bought at the Earth Shoe store in Philly. I would love to see those shoes again.

My husband loved his Earth Shoes; took me years to get him to wear something else (we starting dating in high school!)

When I was in college, I had a pair of Bass saddle shoes with very thick soles. I loved those shoes. The front and back of the shoes were suede and the saddle was leather.

In 7th grade, I wanted a pair of dark brown/light brown suede desert boots. I thought they were the coolest shoes ever. When I got them as a Christmas present from my parents, I was so happy

My very first pair of high heeled shoes - a pair of fabric wedge sandals. My prom pumps that I rescued from a bargain bin at a local thrift store - they the most beautiful shoes I’ve ever seen at the time, so elegant and soft to touch, but they were smeared with glue, and a sole on one of them was loose. I cleaned the glue off with the help of my chemistry teacher, got them to a cobbler, and I ended up with the prettiest and the comfiest heels among all promgoers! That’s when I developed my treasure hunt shopping style.
My brown quilted down coat that I had in college - Mr B still reminds me that I looked “absolutely cute” in it! :)

IN HEAVEN: My 1989 Donna Karan black wrap-around dress OR the light blue Dittos with the saddle-seat butt that all of the other girls in 7th grade had but that we couldn’t afford.

IN HELL: My 1985 Norma Kamali blouses with the shoulder pads that made skinny ole me look like a line-backer.

Forgot to ask – do we get our old body back too? If so, I’d happily take the 501 jeans I wore all through college.

Notelling, Of course we all end up tall, svelte, fit and lovely in heaven. There’s a spot over there to the South Part of Heaven where every woman can choose to be blond if she wants.

I considered showing up in an outfit only made in 1970 when I was 14. Dark purple mini jumpsuit (I had to add 2"to the waist length when cutting it out). Lavender cuffs and collar. Wide suede belt in dark rust where the laces went back ad forth five times. Purple tights.

In retrospect I must have looked like a kid in a superhero costume.

I’ll have to wish for my old Frye boots back too. But not for me, for D1 who wants to spend a ridiculous amount of her own money buying her own pair and who stares daggers at me when considering I could have given her an heirloom pair. Sigh… I didn’t spend a ridiculous amount of money on mine, did I?

I also had a purple sweater dress around the same time. It’s cold out now and I want it back!

I would like to find my favorite perfume from college days in heaven. I think it was called “Styx” and it came in a little black bottle. They don’t make it anymore. I wouldn’t mind if H found his college after shave either in heaven. Heck, maybe I’d just like to be 20 again!

I still have the same body, but I’d like to have back:
A green jacket that mom threw away in the late 80s. I loved that jacket and wore it too much, so mom got rid of it.
My high school track shoes–with spikes.
Those nice maroon leather shoes with tassels that I should never have given away.
Plastic sandals that I wore out over years.
uniforms from parks I used to work at.
African print skirt my mom made
cool white jeans I had in the 90s–without the holes I wore in them.
Maternity clothes

ALSO: A pair of shorts with wide legs and a long Nehru jacket in gray suede, that I wore on dates, with gray tights and gray heels. I looked awesome.

A pair of blue cotton pants that made my butt look amazing.

A lot of my memories are tied up with my clothes. There’s a book – “Loss, Love, and What I Wore” – that my best friend gave me since it was so “me.”

I would just like to be able to get to heaven first. Wonder what is their admission rate and if I have enough ECs. If I do make it, I would like to have few of my favorite bags with me, especially the one from France. I have 2 stretchy cotton dress in black and blue, never wrinkle and make me look very slim.

oldfort – I’ve heard “Heaven” is a safety for all the good people on CC :)

I’d like gourmetmom’s closet in heaven!

I never owned it but around 1982 I found a cashmere coat which is probably the most divine coat I’ve ever tried on. The most beautiful periwinkle color, long with princess seaming. It was $600 and way above what I could ever afford. It could be waiting for me!
