DS is sending our resumes and job hunting. However, e knows he has to find something, even PT, while searching. If I was an employer I wiuld be skeptical in hiring someone who I know will be gone in a nano second. Could be a year from now, could be tomorrow.
What field is he looking into? Is he looking to work a minimum wage job while searching or wanting to find something more professional PT while looking for a more lucrative FT position?
Long, long ago I used to work temp jobs to fill in around my main job (while I went to school at night, because I was crazy). Temp jobs ranged from awesome to absolutely awful, but I’d recommend it for anyone who is ok with constantly showing up to new people, finding new buildings and offices, and new situations. A lot of those jobs wanted to hire me permanently (because I was good), but some of them I just subbed in for someone on maternity or illness leave.
If the job he’s looking at has a presumably long run, it may not be a good fit for him anyway. If it’s one of those jobs where no employer expects to see the same faces 5 years from now, it may not be an issue at all.
