what should I ask?

An uncle of mine has arranged for me to have lunch with a professor who might a good word in for me to the admissions committee and im not sure what to ask about the school or what to prepare before the lunch. Any advice?

Thanks

Ask him whether the students he encounters everyday are hungry to learn and whether they are focused on themselves or if they manifest a sincere desire to understand and impact their community?

Is this a professor in a department in your field of interest? And you are at transfer student, correct?

If it were me, I’d go with more specific questions. I’d treat it as sort of an advising session–explain what you’ve done and what you hope to accomplish at the school, ask him about his department, other courses you should take, gaps in your preparation that need filling etc.

Depending on who the professor is and which school it is, it’s unlikely he’ll have much sway in your outcome one way or the other, so relax.
