I am obsessed with money and business. As a freshman in high school, I am taking all the business classes available and am looking for some summer programs at business schools (suggestions would be appreciated as well). I am looking at the top business programs, Penn Wharton, NYU Stern, UVA Darden etc… Basically, I try to aim for the best, as many others on this site. I currently have a 3.5 unweighted GPA, I play baseball for two teams and am looking to begin doing volunteer work around my community. I have also written two business plans an am looking to send these to VC firms as I am seeking capital and guidance. I have many friends and relatives in the corporate world and may have a few opportunities to work with them at their companies. What should I do differently? I understand GPA wise and activity wise that I am no where near the kind of applicant expected by the school that I have mentioned. Thank you all.

UVA Darden is graduate-only; you’d aim for UVA and then get into McIntire once a year or two in (I don’t rememeber how many) I hope your final GPA is 3.7+…

Wharton: Reach
NYU Stern: Aim for 2100+/31+
UVA: Aim for 31+/2100+

What is an ideal GPA and an ideal list of activities that I should aim for? I view this year, my freshman year as my worst year that I will have, with my 3.4

At most of the schools you’ve listed, anything below a 4.0 W is iffy. Wharton requires perfection in every way, along with connections.

To clarify, by 4.0 W you mean a 4.0 weighted, correct?

Yes, but many of the top schools, especially business schools (which are known to be very competitive) require something a little higher.
Chance me back?

What kinds of extra curricular activities can I aim to participate in as a high school freshman?
