Should I contact the school I wish to be attending or fill out the FAFSA first? The school in question is a local community college that lets pretty much anyone in with a diploma, so there isn’t a real question of “Will I get in?” or not. I was just wondering if I should call them, or fill out the FAFSA first.

Fill out the FAFSA first. Their financial aid office won’t be able to tell you anything definitive until you do. If you have general questions for them at this point you can call too. You can also check their website. General questions you have about FA may be answered there.

Fill out the FAFSA, and make an appointment with the admissions counselors at your community college. Find out if there are any scholarships you might qualify for. The cut-off dates for many of the scholarships at our local community college are in May, so you could still have time!
