What should I do about my interview on D-day?

I have an interview scheduled for Georgetown at 3 pm(pacific) on December 10th. If what people are saying is correct, then I’ll be able to check my email at 12 during school and find out the results. If I get in, then there is no point in my going to the interview. If I don’t, then I’ll be depressed. So do you think I should just resist checking my email and wait to find out until after my interview? As if I wasn’t freaking out already, this only made it worse…

Personally, I would wait. No reason to risk ruining the Georgetown interview! Although, I am sure it will work out!

I have a feeling that no matter what we tell you you’re going to check…I know I would, but this is the first time I’ve heard 12 pm is the definite release time. I’ve heard that it may come earlier or it may come later. Keep in mind that you really do need to go to the GT interview even if you’re accepted to Columbia, you never know what the future my hold. Bearing that in mind, I would check Columbia, get myself together, and then go to the Georgetown interview and do my best!

why are you saying that we will find out by noon?

Cus someone else said we would find out at 3 est, and since I live in California that would be 12 for me. I have no idea if that’s right, but that’s what someone else said. I think I’m going to try my best to resist checking as tough as it may be- especially since I’ll have a free period when they will supposedly be sent. Again, I don’t think anyone really knows when they will be sent. Are people even sure if it’s going to be on the 10th? Rumors get spread so much and then they become convincing.

call them and ask. <------ best thing to do.

multiple ppl have gotten emails from the admissions comittee stating that the tenth is THE day, but it hasnt officially been announced

how come those certain people got it?

well they got emails because they had missing docs in their app…

so dont worry its not some favourtism thing lol… if it was id be highly p*ssed off…

ummm i think u should just do the georgetown interview and check afterwards… but i bet ud wanna check asap!

IMO, check the decision then go to interview. You might be anxious during the interview. You will be thinking about if you got into Columbia or not. You will think whether the interview is pointless. I think you should check the decision first. If you got in, just be proud of yourself and go to Gtown interview with a great attitude and just have fun with it!! If you didn’t get in(I hope you do), then you should forget about Columbia and put your best in the interview.

Good Luck! I hope that you get into Columbia and not worry about other schools.

Yeah, if you go to the interview not knowing you might be thinking that the interview isn’t that important b/c you’re expecting to go to Columbia, but then (hopefully this won’t happen!) if you get deferred/rejected you’ll regret not doing better at the GT interview!
