What should I do during Christmas?

I’m a second year pre-med student, and don’t get me wrong relaxing during Christmas is nice, but it’ll get old after the 2nd week (I live <10 minutes from my university). I also don’t “celebrate” Christmas so I won’t be missing out on that. I could keep doing research and volunteering, but I also want to do something more perhaps (Internship, Extended Research Internship, maybe a medical mission trip). Is it common to do study abroad during the summer? Anyone have any other ideas?

Any of those are fine, doing nothing is fine, doing what you are currently doing is fine. It is common for people to study abroad during the summer/winter, yes. Shelters and soup kitchens always need some extra help during Christmas time.

hang out with friends, relax with family, got to a club/bar…what normal people do during Christmas?

Rhaoul, I volunteer at a few agencies in my college town and they always stress out over the holidays when student volunteers leave but their needs increase dramatically. See what kind of temp help you could offer those agencies–you never know, maybe you’ll find something new to be passionate about!
