<p>I’ve recently taken the GRE and bombed it. I got a 520 verbal 710 quantitative. Neither is above the 75th percentile. Still waiting on the essay but regardless. My intent was to apply for a few Master’s programs in International Relations by the end of December. I was originally aiming pretty high with thoughts of Georgetown, JH (SAIS), Columbia, ect. However the scores have definitely made me rethink that.</p>
<p>To my credit I do have one year of relevant research experience, I graduated with a 3.8 from a reputable UC and with honors in one of my majors. Still I’m lacking work experience. </p>
<p>Obviously a better GRE score would help, but to what extent? Would it be worth putting off applying for another year in order to get the GRE?</p>
