What should I do next semester?

Currently I’m a community college student in California. I was planning on transferring to San Jose State in spring 2011, but due to budget cuts I can’t now. So, it’s either fall 2010 or fall 2011. The problem is I only have 21 units + 9 AP units from AP scores + 12 units from fall 09. I need 18 units to meet the minimum 60. I’m an art student, which means three of the art classes I need to transfer will be six hours a week instead of three, even though they only count for three units. It’s pretty much impossible to schedule six classes when three are in three hour blocks and every class I need is offered in intersecting time slots. I can’t take every class in the articulation agreement, so I’d have to do a few lower division courses when I transfer if I try to do it in 2010. I commute to school, so I pretty much have to stay from the first class to the last class every day.

Here’s what I’ve come up with in the last few hours today:

Monday/Wednesday:
8:00am-10:50am Biology Lab (minus the lab on Wednesday)
11am-12pm Fundamentals of Biology
12:30pm-1:45pm The Arts and Culture of Asia
1:45pm-4pm die of boredom
4pm-6:15pm 3d Modeling and Animation
7:30pm-9:00pm dance class

Tuesday/Thursday:
8:00am-10:50am Drawing and Composition
11pm-12:30pm more dead space
12:30pm-3:20pm Figure Drawing

I also have to take an online History of California class.

On the bright side, art classes usually don’t have homework, but they’re still very time consuming.

I will admit one of the reasons I want to transfer is that this is my third year at community college (not counting the two semesters where I took basically nothing) and I really do not want to be living in the same town for another year. I’m tired of watching everyone I know go to college and feeling frozen in place, I’m ready to leave this town and go elsewhere. If I stay at community college for another year I won’t be able to participate in the EOPS program that gives book vouchers and application fee waivers and such.

I was looking forward to transferring in the spring of 2011 and then in the fall of 2010 only to have to choose from being miserable for a semester or staying in this town for another year. I don’t even know if transferring sooner would be worth the trouble. Can anyone give me their thoughts about this?
