So…
I have 3 different options of what I could do this summer

Go to Boston, MA or other locations if I can find other hospitals with shadow type volunteer opportunities, for 6 weeks
- volunteer at the hospital (kind of like a shadow type thing)
- find a professor to research with at either BU or Harvard (I found like 30 professors who have research that interests me)
- rent an apartment or go to a hostel
- rest of summer: volunteer and possibly learn to drive
Total cost: ~$4000

Stay home:
- volunteer at animal shelters, hospital (kind of like a shadow thing), blood drive
- find a professor to research with at Stanford (only found two professors who have research that interests me)
- go to a medical volunteering abroad thing for two weeks
- learn to drive
- take college classes to get certification for entry level medical jobs, such as phlebotomist or certified nurse assistant
Total cost: ~$3,000

Summer program:
- UC Davis YSP (if I get in) for 6 weeks
- rest of summer: volunteer, maybe learn to drive
Total cost: $5500
so which one should I choose?
