What should I do to be accepted into these different schools?

<p>Hi everyone,</p>

<p>Let’s get straight to the point. </p>

<p>I’m an Asian (Chinese to be specific) junior right now in high school and from New Jersey. I don’t know my class rank in about 250 students. </p>

<p>My high school is top 10 public school in New Jersey and is fairly competitive with a large population of other Asian students that most of them are either the same or smarter than me.</p>

<p>I did track and xc (no varsity) for two years and I quit for one year. I’ going to do it senior year. Probably won’t be varsity. I am part of a couple of clubs for only two years or one year(starting this year or next year) : FBLA, ECO Club, Chinese Culture Club, CHS, NHS, and potentially a Robotic club and Science league. </p>

<p>I have not been in any honors math courses but probably will be in AP Calc AB. My science grades are A’s and B’s. My math grades are A’s. Everything else in humanities was all normal classes until this year (A’s and B’s). Everything else was pretty much A’s. </p>

<p>I had weighted GPAs of 3.7 and 4.1 for my frosh and soph years. </p>

<p>What kind of SAT scores(whole or break down into sections), AP scores, should I get if I want to go to UT Austin engineering, UMich engineering, Georgia Tech engineering, UIUC engineering, Purdue engineering, Notre Dame Business. (Feel free to give a response to each one or just one)</p>

<p>Also, any chance of scholarships for me?</p>

<p>Random Note: My brother pretty much had the same grades with a few more C’s but was in Honors English and APUSH. His math and everything else was pretty much the same. But he was a varsity track and xc runner and I feel like his SAT score might be out of my reach (2220). He got into the prestigious engineering program of UIUC. His GPA was lower than mine each year. Which of these aspects of his academic career in high school differs from mine so far? Are they worse or better than mine? </p>

<p>I know this is a lot but I feel like I have only this site to turn to since I think my counselor is incompetent. Thank you so much guys!</p>

<p>UMich engineering and Notre Dame business are the most competitive programs you listed. </p>

<p>My asian friend who is in my high school graduating class applied to all of the schools you listed, except for Notre Dame business and UT Austin. He applied for engineering only. He got mostly A’s with some high B’s and an ACT score in the low 30’s… which translates to roughly a low 2100. He got into UIUC, Purdue, and Georgia Tech, but got deferred by UMich… He still has a shot, but they didn’t accept him the first round.</p>

<p>I’d say score above a 2100 and get a 750+ on the math section. Also, get A’s in your math and science courses.</p>
