<p>As of now, my dream school is Duke University but with the grades I have right now, it looks unlikely. What can I do to improve my chances of getting in.
I’m a sophomore in high school graduating in the year 2011. My PSAT score I took beginning of my sophomore year was a 1730- 520 on critical reading, 670 in mathematics, and 540 on writing skills. My unweighted GPA is a 92.6. Taking honors classes in every subject including AP World History. Varsity soccer since sophomore year, and varsity winter track since 9th and varsity spring track since 8th grade. I currently have 120 community service hours but from one mission trip I attended as a freshman. I know, my chances are slim, so I want to do as much as it takes to get into a top college. What can I do? What are some clubs or classes that I should take to make me stand out?</p>

You are a sophomore now, you still have one year to improve your SAT score, don’t worry too much.
We attended some college admission sections (campus tour), they all said - be yourself. So, pick up the clubs you are really interested in and would like to spend your time and energy on it. That’s it.</p>
<p>You have a great chance if you continue the work you have done so far. You have a great unweighted GPA and you have good ECs. Try joining a club or two or continue with your community service. You can also try studying for the standardized tests early. You are on the right track.</p>
