What should I do to increase UC GPA??

I am a Junior and my GPA is very low because I was sick a lot and messed up sophomore and junior year. I currently have a 2.9!! I hate it and I am struggling to bring it up. What are ways that I can increase my UC GPA outside of school?? I am currently taking a few courses at De Anza doing con-current enrollment. Can these courses increase my overall UC GPA?

Thanks

BTW, I am aiming for a UC so I really need to bring it up to even be eligible…

From what I understand, UC GPA works like a ratios of A-B-C-D-F. More C’s and D’s (hopefully not!) than A’s will bring your your UC GPA down. So, really, try not to get much B’s C’s and D’s. More A’s in comparision to B’s C’s etc… means higher gpa. Also you should have 8 semesters of UC approved honors/AP courses to have 8 extra “points” added onto the GPA formula. I wish you the best of luck!

First, you need to have a UC GPA of 3.0 weighted to even apply to a UC. Secondly, you cannot get any D’s in your a-g required courses or you will be ineligible. You would need to retake these classes. Dual enrollment classes through your HS will allow you to bump up your GPA, but even getting all A’s this late in your Junior year will may bring it up a few tenth of points above 3.0. Highly unlikely would have a decent chance at any of the UC’s except for UC Merced. You also do not state your SAT/ACT results??? The UC’s also consider EC’s with leadership positions (if possible) and essays. I think you need to set your sights at some of the Cal States for Matches and safeties and consider the UC’s as Reach schools at this point.
