What should I do?

I live in New Jersey, and when I took a look at the Common Data Sets of my local “saftey schools” I see numbers like 95% of admitted students took the SAT. Now I’m taking the ACT in April, since I have no interest in memorizing vocabulary words with the SAT, will I be at a disadvantage if I only take the ACT? I really don’t want to take both.

The fact that 95% of admitted students took the SAT is more a reflection of the applicant pool on the whole than it is of admissions practices; in other words, having taken only the ACT won’t be detrimental.

I’ve seen numerous threads on the “Is SAT > ACT?” I’m not inclined to believe colleges would openly lie on their website, and have a hidden agenda against the ACT. Thats one major counterargument proponents of the SAT-superiority theory have not been able to answer.

Silverturtle, that’s what I thought. And since it is a state college, it having institutional biases for tests is even more likely to be ********.

As AgTurtle stated, You will not be at a disadvantage taking the ACT. All colleges accept either one.
