What should I do??

One month ago I got the opportunity to join a lab and work on a research project (which the professors helped out with A LOT seeing as we are only in High school and don’t know how to do a lot of the procedures). Anyway, my partner who is also in High school was working on his project for a good 8 months and I jumped in during the final stages of his project. I helped him finish it in the month I was there and we proved his original hypothesis. Now all we have to do is replicate.

My sticky situation is that it will take a really long time with really long hours to get it done by the end of summer. Although we are supposed to leave at 5 they really don’t check up on us so often times we end up going home at around 6 or 7 from 9 in the morning to start. I am wondering what I should put a premium on. During this summer I am also working on the SAT and although I think I can do both, albeit with a bit of difficulty, I am wondering what I should put more of a focus on.

I really like working in the lab but I also need to improve my 1990 SAT score and the only score I have improved to my 750+ goal in the 3 weeks of summer is my Math score. I am not sure if I will have time to do the same for writing and CR. The work I am doing at the lab has a really good chance of becoming published but I need a good SAT score to get into Brown and Northwestern so I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. I can shorten my hours and depend on my colleague to cover for me in the last few hours I am not there and it won’t negatively effect the entire project all that much so, any opinions on what I choice I should make?

Are you going to be a senior or a junior?

I will be a senior.
