Well let’s start off with I went to a community college to start off due to being a full time YouTuber that pays very well. My first sememester I did all right my lowest grade was a low B. Let’s just make this short and sweet life was good.
Well last spring semester YouTube changed the policies on ad revenue and practically I’m only getting paid for some of my videos. In the last two months I haven’t made a dime off YouTube. To sum this up I’m only getting paid by my sponsor which is 1/4 of the income per video. So let’s do some math. I get roughly 50-75 dollars per video on a good day with good content. I’m making a fraction now of maybe 5-10 dollars per video! I got lazy with school and focused more on paying my bills I was pumping out 2-3 videos a day and I still am. My highest grade was a C I got one F and 3 D’s. If anyone reading this edits videos you know the time consumption and when you got a loan rent cost of living and other bills to pay you kinda know what comes first.
So basically my mom and I are not on good terms after these results. I plead my case but she doesn’t quite comprehend my job and what I’m going through. We cut the cost of college 50-50 and she’s unwilling to even help me atm. I know I’m not dumb I know it’s my fault with my time management but in reality what comes first?
I’m in contact with YouTube and my sponsor about this ad crisis and it should be resolved in the next 10-20 days with my channel but she basically hung me out to dry. I’m 19 lost atm and on my own what should I do? I really want to finish my associates ASAP and redo all these classes I’ve failed. Luckily my Community College does have a bad semester deal where I can retake my classes and practically wipe that semester off my record minus my math class. It’s called student forgiveness and I have to make a appeal but my advisor when I talked to her about the appeal bringing in all my bills and my lost income “which my. YT incomeis also publicly accessible” said “it’s definitely a tough situation you are in and I don’t think the board would deny your appeal especially since you have all this proof”
So through this appeal I would get a refund not all of it but like 60% of what I payed due to my community college weird class dropping rules if I passed the classes. 75% if I make the deans list. Which clearly making the deans list last fall semester I know I can do it.
Now what should I do? Should I apply for a student loan because I’m seriously skimming by at the moment. There’s no way I can afford the payment plan with my college like I was my first semester and can’t front the money until this ad issue is fixed heck id maybe be able to afford one or two classes and I can’t make the deans list only being a part time student!
