What should I do?

Hello,

I have a bit of a dilemma. I was accepted to Berkeley, Dartmouth, USC and Georgetown. I plan on majoring in business. I have a full scholarship to USC and half to Georgetown. Berkeley’s Haas is well ranked, however does it outweigh the prestige of an econ degree at an ivy? Also, USC and Georgetown would be very fun schools, but are not necessarily the best for business. What should I do?

I would go to Georgetown or USC for the scholarship money. Here are the undergrad rankings for the schools…

University of California–Berkeley (Haas) * 4.5

Univ. of Southern California (Marshall) 4.1

Georgetown University (McDonough) (DC) 3.5

For MBA, USC and Georgetown are around 26 and 27 on Usnews rankings…

You have a tough decision. USC for free, Georgetown for $20,000/year or a top 10 university like Cal or Dartmouth at a higher price. All 4 are good schools, but they are all very different. Are finances a concern? If not, I would say Haas and Dartmouth, depending on fit. Both are equally respected, so do not chose based on what you think is better or based on what people in this forum tell you. If finances are a concern, then USC is certainly worth considering.
