I just took the SAT Reasoning Test a section time and these were my scores

SAT I: First time
720 - M
670 - W
550 - CR
1940

SAT I: Second time
680 - M
670 - W
620 - CR
1970

I improved by 30 points but if you average both scores i would have had a 2010… should i take the test a third time? I am shocked that my writing did not go up to 700+ as i thought i really had the hang of it, which is shocking and i feel i can definitely get my Math to 740 or higher… CR i hope i can raise but i really don’t know…

I plan to take the ACT in September and i really want to go to Dartmouth… it’s a pipe dream but i am really hoping to get in.

If i do not like my ACT, should i retake the SAT a third time? Do you think they would mind? I get the summer, uninterrupted by schoolwork, to study for the SATs which i could use but i don’t know if i could really get it up to the 2100s…

so here just to get advice on what i should do

Omg you are soooo close to a 2000, dont give up now. all you need is an incerase of 130 points to get a 2100!! Why dont you try buying Barrons 2400 (the old one, cuz the new one comes out in august) or Kaplan’s 2400. Those books really give you the push needed to get past basic tactics and “crack” the 2000, or even go a bit higher.

It depends on the schools you wanna apply to. If you really want to go to HYPSM then yes you should retake and try to get 2200+. If you are looking at certain scholorships or you are sophomore then yes you should retake. For most state schools however I believe a 2010 should be fine.

If you want to improve I would recommend Rocket Review for writing and math. The tips are amazing and it helped me go from 630 to 780. As for CR I would use Grammatix its tips are very helpful and helped me go from a 59 PSAT score to a 700.
