<p>I had my english teacher edit 5 of my college essays. He put dedicated time and effort in to all of them and really gave me some great ideas and helpful hints. What should I get him for this? I was thinking a $50 to a nice reastraunt in town.</p>

<p>let’s assume that english teachers are professionals. some of these, they work for essay editing services on the side. some of these services range from $100-2000 for helping you with your essays depending on how many, length etc.</p>
<p>if you had 5 essays, that is about 5-10 hours.</p>
<p>$50 is reasonable and definitely isn’t too much.</p>
<p>buying him a gift (something physical) I would assume is nicer than just getting a gift card. shows that you put some effort in it as well ;)</p>
<p>then again, this is just my 2 cents.</p>
<p>^yeah I’d get a gift rather than give a gift card where he can know the exact amount of money you’re spending on him. Seems less tacky.</p>
