I know its kind of a silly question but, I recently founded a club which is basically a fan club for my high schools sports. It organizes the student section as well as a bunch of other things. Which name would look best on a transcript?
-Student Section Club
-Sports Supporters Club
-Fan Club
-Pep Club
-Please if you have any of your own suggestions let me know, because I don’t think any of those names are very good.
I can’t resist the “fondued” question. What school do you go to?
@onceuponamom haha, autocorrect did that. I’m still in high school, and prefer not to say which one just for privacy reasons.
What is your mascot and school colors?
Edit: Wait, why does it matter how it “looks” on a transcript? What does one thing have to do with the other?
@irlandaise Our mascot is a trojan and our school colors are maroon and grey

If you want a generic term, go with something like “The Boosters,” but - if your group is more academically-oriented, you might play with something like “The Priam Society,” or “The Aeneans.” I’m astonished by how many teams have adopted the name “Trojans,” not just for its lewder connotations but for the simple fact that the Trojans lost.
I’d personally go with something generic… XXXXX High Pep Club.
Students Supporting Student Athletes
sports fan club – democratic club. Are you telling us that none existed before you headed the efforts at your school be “begin” these clubs? Really?
You better watch out or the apt name for your club might be “Trojan’s fan club (i.e. resume padding, line #2)”
I read your earlier “chance me” post. You’re better off investing your energies on raising your GPA vs. puffing up this sports pep club. This will be a completely unforgettable throwaway line in your common application. Whereas if you actually boost your GPA with a killer 2nd semester Junior year and 1st semester Sr year, that will definitely increase your chances.
You’re looking for the back door in when the front door is unlocked.
@T26E4 I appreciate the advice, but i’m not just doing this club to get into a good college, I have genuine motivations. I have been working hard and been successful in getting my GPA up. But, I think if i’m gonna do this club as well, I might as well add it to my transcript.

When you formed and advertised the club to your classmates, what did you call it? Don’t change it.
@T26E4 makes an excellent point. If you want to add to your transcript, there are better ways to go about it. Everything on your app should be there for a reason. What does forming new clubs the last semester of your junior year add to your application? Are they a logical progression from other activities? What skills/interests/talents are they intended to show? If they don’t add to something already in your app, I’d use that space for something that serves you better. If you believe they reinforce a particular trait and you can’t leave them off, the name should reflect whatever image you’re trying to convey.
I’m surprised that your high school doesn’t already have a pep club. We used to have cheerleaders to support the athletes and get the student body pumped up. Your school doesn’t have a cheerleading/pep squad?
