I am filling out employment paperwork and was wondering what I should put down as my address. I use my parents’ house in New York as my permanent address and currently live in PA where I’m going to be working. Just tax-wise, is it any better to be a PA resident working in PA rather than a NY resident working in PA? I’ve searched a little bit but found mostly questions about PA residents working in NY. Where can I find information about this?

It would be wise to become a PA resident. With that as your intent, it would be appropriate to use your PA address. (Honestly, what is the advantage of being a NY resident if you’re working in PA???)

What is your work situation? Is this a one-semester internship or a real job that you expect to keep for a year or more?
