What should I wear to my interview? (Interviewed by a Judge)

I’m being interviewed by one of Pomona’s alumni. He is a judge in our area.
I have no idea what to expect. I googled pictures of him and he seems like one of those chubby, jolly old men. He looked like he was enjoying himself in his pictures. In the pictures, as expected, he was wearing a pretty formal suit.
When he emailed me back, he seemed very laid back. Wasn’t too formal. He even used the words “pretty good” to describe something.

What’s something fail-proof that I can wear?
I am female by the way.

And if you have any tips, please share !

I would wear a nice dress or skirt. Nothing too fancy, just neat and tidy. You want the sort of outfit that would work no matter how he dresses.

Depending on where you live (temperature-wise), a nice pair of pants would also work - no jeans! Good luck!

Ditto on the above advice. Dress like you would for a job interview in an office, or, better yet, if you were going to court. Even if he seems jolly and laid back, don’t be too presumptuous. Be yourself, but be respectful.
