What should I write in my personal statement and CV for the Yale admissions interview?

My interviewer is asking for those two. The personal statement should be about what (yes, I know it’s about me, but what specifically?)?

Also, what things are most important in the CV? I’ve never had to make a CV before (though I’ve prepared a bullet-form list compiled from previous attackds

Are you sure that the interviewer isn’t asking for your common app essay? I’m not sure, but that’s what I thought of when I saw your subject.

As to the CV, for her interviews my D put down a list of her current senior year courses, extra-curricular activities including employment, the past summer’s activity, awards/honors, and Standardized testing. If your testing isn’t something you’re happy with, I would leave that off.

Good luck on your interview.

I included all my ECs along with test scores and GPA in my CV. I don’t think there’s anything else you can include in a CV.

For the essay, I suggest you simply pick one you must have written for any college. The amount of time you would spend drafting a new one is not worth the credit you’ll get for it. The interviewer may just go through it briefly.

Your interviewer is NOT asking for you to compose another personal statement. Bring your CA essay and a brief CV/resume listing your ECs, jobs, etc. Frankly he/she shouldn’t be asking for a personal statement/essay in my opinion as a +25 year Yale interviewer.

I agree with @T26E4 - I have been doing Yale interviews for more than 25 years. I have never asked the candidate for any documentation and no one I know does it. However, you should do whatever this particular interviewer asks you to do. Good luck!!

After doing the interview, I see that she got them to discuss them with me, albeit not strictly reading into them.
