I like making detailed 3D stuff like miniature buildings with all sorts of medium.
And I like making realistic concrete objects with plastic or perhaps certain kinds of woods (anything easy to make straight lines with) rather than abstract fantasy objects with natural medium such as sands, leaves, natural woods, etc.
What kind of art should I choose major in?
What is the best school for that major?
and What kind of job can i get with that degree?(BFA)

Have you considered either computer art or 3d modeling/animation? Schools that have these programs are places like Ringling, Pratt institute and SVA and Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

You might also want to consider majors such as sculpture, and jewelry/metalsmithing. RISD , Cleavland college of art has these as does a number of other art schools.

You also might want to consider design such as industrial design. Cincinnati, RISD, Pratt, SCAD, Cleavland college of art and others have this major.

I don’t think digital 3D modeling/animation may be what this student is looking for specifically since he/she speaks specifically of using concrete materials like wood and plastic.

The student may be most interested in architecture, industrial design, jewelry design, production design, and/or furniture design.

My advice would be to find a school that offers the diversity of majors you are interested. Since you typically would not have to decide upon a major until Spring of your freshman year, you could survey the lay of the land to help you decide.

Be sure to check out SCAD. They offer degrees in all of the above majors.

I loved making miniatures and scale models growing up, and here is what I considered studying at the time:

Industrial design - a lot of designing and prototyping of every day objects, working with hands
Architecture - truly I only wanted to get into architecture to build those cool scale buildings used for presentation and visualization =)

Here are some other majors/fields to consider:
Stage/theater design, Costume design, Automotive design, Sculpture, Puppetry

Related jobs:
I used to want to work in special effects model shops, like ILM. Even though the model shop is now spun off, they still build practical miniatures for movies, such as the Pirates in which a few fully detailed scale tall ships were built. And now there’s Weta Workshop as well in NZ.
Your career path will depend on if you’re interested in working for a company doing something like architectural, industrial or fashion design, or if you are more interested in self employment doing sculptural/jewelry design, etc.

I work in visual fx/animation, not quite the same as working with my hands. But I enjoy using my hands when not at work - models, clay, silver/gold, paint, wood, furniture, gardens, anything that requires a little bit of finger dexterity and artistic design, I’m there =)
