What should my transcript look like to be accepted for SLO and SDSU?

By that, I mean: What GPA, SAT, and ACT should I aim for that is basically guaranteed to be accepted?

Both schools will require you to complete the a-g courses outlined here. If you miss one, you are out - no matter what your GPA/SAT.

For SDSU as an in-state applicant, you need a CSU Index above 4100 (about 3.7 GPA and 1200/1600 SAT) to be comfortably above their cut line. They use a modified, weighted GPA from grades 10-11. (include only college prep courses and drop +/-) They also only look at your M&R SAT. You can learn how to calculate your index here:

For CalPoly SLO - the answer is a bit more complicated and varies by major.

There’s the freshman class profile. If you are above their average GPA/SAT for your major, you are probably in pretty good shape. They have a list of reccomended courses that are factored in. This link will show you the required and reccomended:

Good luck.
