My girlfriend is starting to look at colleges with me but she hasn’t picked a major yet. She wants to be a pediatrician (so that’d take UG, then med school, speciality, etc). But what would she major in in her undergrad college? I told her it really doesn’t matter, its a matter of preference, and she wants to look into Psychology, but she wants a few other options to fall back on. Given that info, what would be some good majors?

Pre-med students most often major in subjects such as biology, chemistry, and psychology, but can actually major in whatever they want as long as they’re fulfilling pre-med requirements. For example, I’m a pre-med music major. I would suggest that she major in whatever seems the most interesting to her.

Yeah I told her that its pretty much open to whatever she wishes, but her mother doesn’t share such free-thinking beliefs; she (her mother) believes that she needs to pick a major that pays well in the job world in case the medical plan falls through, and she takes her mothers word very seriously, so she’s somewhat limited as to what she “likes,” i suppose.
