My daughter’s been accepted at CUA’s Benjamin T. Rome School of Music with a substantial scholarship, Boston Conservatory with a scholarship, Hartt with a scholarship and Manhattan School of Music with no scholarship (of course). Which would be the best school for vocal performance as she wants to study opera? She is academically a very good student;1350 SATS, 3.9 GPA, AP’s but wants a conservatory.

drossi10- I would strongly urge you to post this in the music major specific forum. There are both current and past threads addressing vocal performance at most of the schools you’ve listed. There are a number of current acceptees among those schools as well, plus some parents with broad knowledge based on experience and industry knowledge.

The forum is here http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/

A number of factors weigh heavily in the process of reaching a decision.
