What socks to go with these flats?

Hmmm. I wear socks with sneakers. I also wear socks under my many pairs of boots. When I wear closed toed shoes, I don’t wear nylons or socks…unless they are high vamp shoes like some of my Clark’s which I wear with slacks. And I have some fun socks…argyle, polka dots, etc. No one sees them anyway…they are under my slacks.

I wear sandals as much as possible…even to dress up,occasions in the winter.

I wish I liked boots! But I just never have.

When I wear flats with bare feet (almost all the time), I put a dash of baby powder in the shoe and toss it around before I put them on in the morning. Helps with comfort, stickiness, etc.

I have the sweatiest feet in the universe and can’t stand wearing shoes without socks. But I agree the OP’s shoes should not be worn with socks. I have had no luck with the no-show liners. They always show and rarely stay on my heels. So I have purchased inexpensive insoles with the fabric-like outer layer (not the rubber ones) and put in the flats that I wear with bare feet. I simply replace them when they get dirty/yucky.

I wear pants all the time to work with knee-high trouser socks and flat, loafer-style, shoes.

I’ve found that using a bit of disinfectant spray inside my flats really helps with the yuckiness factor. Never wear socks with flats.

I wonder how safe it is for the disinfectant to be in direct contact with your skin for hours and hours at a time…

^^^Foot doctor recommended the spray disinfectant to me. She said it was a way to prevent athlete’s foot.

Apologies, Shrinkrap! Of course nude is personal. I meant to say what Pizzagirl said in #58 and should have explained it better (no thick and obviously visible socks or patterned socks). Just like your makeup foundation - match it to your skin tone.
For anyone wondering how to pick “nude.” Do the arm test and figure out what color blends with your skin so the hose “disappears” on you. It will also depend on how tanned the skin is. E.g., I wear a darker shade of “nude” hose in the fall than I do in the spring when my natural summer suntan goes away (unless I’m lucky to spend a lot of time lounging on a beach in winter). Manufacturers finally figured out that not all women have same sand-colored skin…

Kate might have to wear hose out of necessity, but she definitely perfected that look by choosing brands and color that make the hose almost invisible. ;)

No apologies neccesary. Just having fun.

I happen to have vitiligo, so “nude” for me can also mean chalk white spots. :-S

^^Bromfield - good. “Spray disinfectant” made me think of something like Lysol, and having something like that in long-term contact with your skin would not be a god plan.
Never mind (Emily Litella) :-)

Far from a fashionable person here, but I see no problem with socks with these if you’re wearing them with ankle-length skinny jeans. Especially “statement” socks. Similarly, with a sweater dress, what about opaque tights? Just asking.
