What are the good sororities that will allow me to have fun plus wont affect how well i do in college at uic? i need at least a 3.4 because i am also doing honors college here. im going for a 3.7…i had a 4.7 in high school. im also doing architecture so yeahhhh
Just about any Greek group should allow you the flexibility of how much time you devote to it. I had friends that went “all in” with respect to Greek life and I rarely saw them again. I had others (even at the same frat as those previously mentioned) that I saw all the time, so their time investments definitely differed. Just try it out. During the rush process you’ll have plenty of time to chat with other girls and see if it’ll be possible to get your “fun” while still having time to study.
Some people swear by the study help they got from their frat brothers/sorority sisters who shared a major with them. Others are quickly pulled into the social side of it, to the detriment of their grades. I’d seek out sororities that have a higher minimum GPA requirement.
Wait, what i"m confused? How does joining a specific sorority house effect your GPA more so than others? Are you asking us which house would be a better academic influence? If so, it would really depend on the school and so you would have to get a feel for each house during rush week.
If in turn, you’re asking whether or not to join a sorority (in general) or not to join a sorority.
I would definitely join a sorority. But again, All schools are different and each house has their own sort of reputation
For example: Kappa Kappa Gamma is the worst house at my school but i know its not the same at other Universities.
Alpha Phi-Partiers…probably not the best academic influencers
Chi omega-really nice and somewhat smart
Delta Gamma-Typically smart, social butterflies
but thats just for my school.
oh and if you’re worried about which sororities require more time commitment to social events, philanthropies… for the most part its the same for each sorority. Again, it might be different for each school but generally, its the same.
