What SSAT scores should an international student have?

To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Maria and I’m from Russia. I’m applying as a 10th grader to Hotchkiss, Exeter, Andover, St.Paul, Taft and Concord Academy.
I have a question about SSAT Scores. What kind of scores does the Admission Office expect from a student for whom English is a second language?
I scored 98 on TOEFL and 2031 on SSAT.
Do you think that with these results I would still be able to be admitted (considering that all other parts of an application are fantastic)?
Please, be honest

Yes You have a good chance but applying to 10th grade is competitive!

their really is no minimum score, at least thats what i think
i believe its about you as a whole, if you claim your good in math, then you should have a very high score there, if you claim you write then you should have a high verbal score and a nice essay, if english is not your fist language, they really cant expect a 99 percentile… do you catch my drift?

in other words, im guessing they look at ur SSAT scores to validate and confirm what you said and claimed you do

hope that helped :)

your TOEFL is on the low side. middlesex (i think it was them, not 100% sure, check the website), which is among the top schools, asks for a minimum of 100 on your TOEFL exam, so i think other schools hope for something around that.

also, i think that your ssat scores should be around the same as a domestic student, as you’re expected to be fluent in english. these schools don’t offer ESL courses and i doubt they’d go easy on an international student, so i’d aim for higher than a 2031… aim for 2200+ (imho)

best of luck!
