What style does RISD's architecture department belong to?

I major in Civil engineering in undergraduate education, now I want to apply an architecture degree in RISD–the best art school in the States, but I am little confused about what is it like. Would anyone tell anything about it? Thanks very much!

I visited RISD with my son who is applying to architecture programs. All of the first year students go through a “foundations” series of art courses. Then the art courses are mixed in the schedule with the architecture courses. Without starting at the beginning with the other students in the class you may be at a disadvantage.

At another school I heard from the architecture dean that it is easy for arch students to shift out to a civil program if they feel there is too much work. It is impossible to go the other way. In your case it might be best to think about a M.Arch with the BS in Civil.
