I am a sophomore currently in high school (becoming junior after this summer)

I have a strong point in math as I am taking Algebra II Honors and Computer Science AP this year.

Any recommendations for a college summer program which can look good on college applications?

At this point you are fairly late as most applications were due a month+ ago. Ross is still open, but I’m not sure what else is at this point that would be beneficial in regards to college applications. There are still several programs though available. Check out various threads for different programs. You should definitely find something for next year if you can’t find anything for this year.

Thnx for the answer.

I have been doing research on prigrams and I found one at Johns Hopkins. Is it a prestigious program that colleges like to see?

Colleges in general like to see you pursue your passions and do something productive over your summers. I don’t know about the Johns Hopkins program specifically. There are so many out there… it depends more on selectivity. It’s easy to get caught up in the name game and pay lots of money to truly get little long term benefit. You might be better off by getting a job or taking some college courses or both. Your math is not at an advanced level particularly, so you may want to see if you can work ahead over the summer. Good luck.

I came across this link: [Intern Abroad Program - Summer Internship Program in Shanghai 2010](http://www.internabroad.com/listingsp3.cfm/listing/76755) when surfing online on summer programs.

It’s obviously a summer program in Shanghai with internship and everything all-inclusive.

The program that MissPippo is referring to costs $4200 (plus airfare I believe) and is for individuals who are at least 18.

My main conflict is that I am planning to take summer school (not because I am behind, but to get ahead as I have done in the past two years) throughout the last half of June and all of July. Any recommendations as a result of this for anything I can do in August?

There is a math program at Hampshire college in MA but I don’t think the timing works out for you: July 4th to August 14th. They have a fun website in any case.
I was looking for summer programs last summer for August and there weren’t too many, partly because the colleges start up again in August. Good luck to you!
