I’m interested in knowing what is the minimum test score to make you happy and stop taking more tests.

I’ve only taken the ACT, so for me it is 30+

If I get a 30 on June’s ACT, I’ll be happy and stop standardized testing all together. I already have the university I want to go to in mine, and because of their auto-admit program, I can get in even with a horrible score. I just want to have a 30 for insurance.

I got a 31 the first time, and would have been happy. But I hadn’t taken the writing, so I took it again. I got a 35. Needless to say, I’m not taking it again.
Most of my friends are looking for a 28+

For my son it was a 30. He isn’t a good test taker (his PLAN score project 21-25)
He got a 28, retested and scored a 30 last April. It feels so good to say he is DONE.

For me, I’m stopping at a 2300, or 3 tries.

^ that is a good plan!

My son was shooting for a 31 and ended up with a 33 in April. He was happy with that and even though he was registered for June he skipped it and he is done.

My goal was a 34, and I ended up scoring higher than that my first time, so I stopped.

I took the SATs for the first time June 1st!

I’ll stop at two tries or a 2300+.

SAT: 750+ on each section
ACT: 34

My first try I got a 30, and I’m pretty happy with it. It’ll definitely get me into my top 5 choices.

I am going to take it again in the fall, though, because I get a lot more merit aid for a 31/32 at 3 or 4 of the schools I want. I also plan to apply to honors programs and 31/32 will give me a better shot. I’m only going to take it one more time though. I won’t take it a third time even if I don’t get a 32 - I’d much rather spend my time writing better essays for applications or studying for tests! Two tries is my max since I have a good score already.

I got a 22 and need a 31 for the college I want. I think I can do it.

SAT: 2350
ACT: 34 to 35
Needless to say, I have a lot of studying to do and I should not be on College Confidential right now…eh…tomorrow then.

i took ACT with an intention of scoring 34 or above. my first try resulted in a 33 which was a good start, and my second try resulted in a 35, and that’s when i stopped taking standardized tests since i was very happy with that score!

An ACT of a 29+ would make me happy

Sat: 2200
act: 34

My goal was 30 for the ACT, took it without studying for the first time in April and got a 35. After I nearly peed my pants, I decided I was done with testing. No way did I have the energy to study to get the 36, I knew I didn’t NEED a 36, and if I got a worse score I would’ve been upset.

I got a 26 the first time, then a 30 the second time and stopped there.

After seeing so many high SAT and ACT scores I think many of you are done!
