What are these Judeo-Christian values that are inherent in that tradition and absent from, I don’t know, just being a decent human being? I don’t think people need “Judeo-Christian” values do not murder and not rape and not steal.</p>

<p>Historically, I guess not. I should have said “MORE equal rights for both genders”…Judeo-Christian women certainly haven’t been treated as true equals until recently, but we don’t force them to cover every inch of their body or stone them if they do something wrong in this country.</p>

<p>To credit women’s progress in America to Judeo-Christian values is laughable, particularly when the Catholic Church proclaims the washing machine to be the most liberating invention for women in the 20th century.</p>
