What the heck... care to check out my roommate short essay?

Since I’ve already pretty much written off Stanford as a realistic prospect and will apply solely to amuse myself (sniff sniff), I’ll just post it here instead of suffer through PMs:

‘Ell there roomie! I 'm sure we’ll have mighty good time. You’ve probably noticed that I made myself totally at home here; moving around so many times in eighteen years can give that ability to a person. Don’t worry, you can check out my exotic collection of tidbits. You might have noticed a set of strange literature next to my bed, with words that resemble no Chinese characters that you’ve ever seen. Well, Smarty-pants, that’s because they’re in Hebrew! That’s right, Mr. Adventurer here has lived in Israel for four years of mental kicks in the nuts (fortunately, the physical kind occurred a tad less often). You might’ve also noticed that the books looks suspiciously like a bunch of fantasy books… and Goosebumps. Not exactly the type of literature a Stanford student typically reads, right? Well, they’re here for gratitude as well as leisure; these books saved my sanity in Israel, so they hold highly sentimental values.
Yet, more importantly, these books remind me every day of my greatest failure: the loss of an entire language. Through gross neglect and brain damage, my ability to use Hebrew is now limited to saying “I don’t know Hebrew.” The fact that I could lose such a giant chunk of knowledge shames me, and everywhere I look, the books taunt me, daring me to read them once more; but I dare! The shame doesn’t consume me; it only fuels my desire to regain what I lost. I bring these books here for that reason: to prove to myself I will never avoid my faliures, and to always learn from them.
Ultimately, the books are here to stand testament to some of my most fundamental characteristics: I remember both good times and big losses, and what I lose, I will get back.

Oh, and remember, I know where you live.

If you didn’t catch it, the last part was to give my message a practical effect of saying: don’t steal my stuff, *****, because I’ll never forget, and I’ll hunt you down.

actually I am gonna to start my essay pretty soon…I really have no idea what to write…

didnt really read your essay carefully, but thanks for sharing.

btw, should the short essay be this long?

Ray, I sent you a PM.

this long? it was short to me… god im never going to fit everything i want to say…

wow…I thought it should only be about 200 words

Your character length is 1732. 1597 is maximum allowed in the space. You’ve got to edit!

i don’t think so. they let you go over by a little bit. I played aroudn with it, not sure of the maximum, but the character counter does dip into the negatives, so that means 1600++ characters.
