In my school, you HAVE to take qualifying tests, get a certain GPA for every single AP class. My friend at a school gets to take as many Ap’s as he wants. IS this fair? Am i at a diasvantage and will my chances decrease if i can’t take as many AP’s as my friend does?

yup some schools have open enrollment for ap classes and some don’t. i went to one which didn’t for 2 years and one which did for 2.

I don’t think it would matter. Usually readers are familiar with each school so they will know that it’s more difficult to take Aps at your school. I assume that the tests are pretty fair so it shouldn’t keep you from taking a class if you were qualified. Don’t sweat it.

It won’t hurt your chances. Actually, it can up your chances if you take 6+ AP’s in your situation. Colleges get your school info and know everything. They will be more sympathetic to you than to a person who have open admissions to AP’s.
