What time of year do I take the GRE for Spring 2008 Admissions?

<p>I am sorry for bothering anyone. </p>

<p>But what is the best time of year to take the GRE for Spring 2008 admissions? </p>

<p>I am going to be applying to humble schools, btw. </p>

<h1>1 Memphis Theological Seminary: for my MA as well as PHD</h1>

<h1>2 Harding Graduate School of Religion: for my MA and then I will get my PHD</h1>

<p>^ This is my worse case scenario school and I would just study lit. there.</p>

<p>I have a high gpa and a dual major in Theology and Lit. I just have no choice but to go to grad school in the spring of y2k8, because of how I graduate the fall of y2k7! </p>

<p>My math is bad, because I am super ld in math. But, I have a good fighting spirit and am already reviewing. My vocabulary for academic things and tests is quite fair, except for on messageboards:) I am always casual on messageboards:)</p>

<p>You will want to make sure you take the test at least a month to six weeks before your application deadlines, just so you can make sure the scores have been sent and received. ETS has a habit of not sending scores that they were supposed to send, and you don’t want to be denied from a school just because ETS messed up.</p>

<p>If you take the test four or five months before your deadlines, you will have even more time to make sure ETS hasn’t messed anything up, and you have the ability to re-take the test if necessary.</p>

<p>Habit? More like goal. They flubbed sending my scores TWICE. And charged me TWICE. </p>

<p>How do you know if ETS flubbed sending the scores?</p>

<p>I just ordered additional score reports last week and I just got a letter from ETS saying that they have sent the scores.</p>

<p>I called all of my programs about a week or so before the deadlines, and lo and behold, my GRE scores hadn’t “made it” to one of the schools. I had to pay the extra $21 for a rush report.</p>

<p>Miraculously, once I had coughed up the extra dough, my scores made it to the school just fine.</p>

<p>What is the rush report? Should one go ahead and sign up for that when they sign up for the GRE?</p>

<p>I am thinking of taking the GRE over at the University of Arkansas and just kind of make a little three day Holiday out of things.</p>

<p>What does one do to make double sure their schools get the GRE scores on the quick?</p>

<p>Just have the scores sent the regular way, then call the programs a few weeks later (the scores are sent electronically once a month) and verify that they’ve received them.</p>

<p>I mean, most of the time everything gets where it needs to go – I sent my general scores to 9 schools and my subject test scores to 4, and only one of the scores didn’t get to the right place. Just be aware that it can happen, and take some steps to double-check ETS if you can. (I should point out that I had a dear, but very flaky, letter-writer, which is why I was going around calling the programs to check the receipt of my materials in the first place. But I think it’s just good practice – I don’t trust ETS or the USPS a particularly great deal.)</p>
