Last night I severely sprained or possibly broke my right ankle (going to get it X-Rayed today). What should I do about my upcoming ACT tomorrow? I could get to the testing center fine, but obviously I wouldn’t be in the best condition to take a 3 hour long test. Any advice is appreciated.

Take it. If you do well, great. If you don’t, you’ve got a good extenuating circumstance to tell them about. And if you take it again and do great, you’ll be really credible.

But do not, under any circumstances, take anything more powerful than Tylenol or Aleve. Anything with codeine for pain will alter your abilities, even if you don’t feel it.

Don’t send your test scores anywhere, including your high school until you see them and are happy with them. If you don’t like the scores, you don’t have to send them.

Remember, ACT has score choice - if you don’t like the scores, you don’t ever have to send them anywhere. You can just take the test again later and send only the better scores.

are you a junior or a senior? if you’re a junior you have plenty more chances, so don’t worry too much.
if you’re a senior… good luck.

I’m a Junior. I just decided to call them and postpone it until the next test date (April 14th).

Um, not to be mean or anything, but I don’t know of many people that use their ankles to take the ACT. Not really sure how a sprained or broken ankle would affect your results…

Hard to concentrate and focus when your ankle is in constant pain.
