What to do after getting accepted?

Hi!
Like the title says… what do we do after getting accepted?
How/by when do we confirm that we are going to attend and what do we do about financial aid? Will these information be included in the packet arriving later?
Whoa, that’s a load of questions. Thanks in advance!

I’m confused as well. I expected the paper letter to arrive the next day after online notification, but I still haven’t recieved it. Anyone else in the same boat?

I know the online one said over the next few days they would tell us via email. So I guess we play the waiting game… once again.

I received my packet yesterday. It has a sheet with your NetID information and you have to log in to create your Northwestern e-mail. There are also directions about how to pay your housing and tuition deposits.
There’s also a link to this website with a checklist.

Has anyone else not received a letter yet?

Found mine in the mail today.

And what to do after getting accepted? Celebrate, of course! NU 2014!!!

I didn’t get my letter yet either and I live like an hour and a half tops away from campus.

mooble, thx for the link! I better check it out right now since i havent gotten my packet yet. And fyi, I am an international student so I guess it makes sense that I’m still waiting… (waiting is always SO HARD!)

I graduated from NU 25 years ago. So excited for all who are entering next Fall. Congratulations and good luck to all of you!

If I may add to LINYMOM’s excellent list: Buy thermals. UNIQLO makes some excellent and stylish (albeit more expensive) ones under the Heat-Tech trade name.

What do you recommend about bikes. When I visited I saw a lot parked in front of building, but what happens in the winter? Is it safe to leave a bike out? Are they necessary to get across campus?

Bikes are not necessary, but definitely a plus. I left mine out in the winter (And continued to use it when I could) but this led to its rather early demise. Not reccomended. The University supplies safe winter storage.

The shuttle system also works pretty well if you need to get from south campus to north campus.

Here’s another must-do after being accepted. #6 on my list (see my previous post for #1-5):
