What to do after sending acceptance deposit...

Yeah, well I hope the deadline for final transcripts wasn’t yesterday because my previous school f***ed it up and sent it to the “transfer processing center” and not ILR directly (got a letter about a weeek ago saying the haven’t gotten anything yet). Also called CollegeBoard AP today to send ILR my AP score report. Speaking of which, the CollegeBoard lady said that all reports go straight to Cornell Admissions, and they couldn’t send it to a different address. We shall see…

Required reading?!? I haven’t heard anything about that from ILR, but maybe it’s only for different schools?

@diehldun: I don’t think so… Here is the to do list that we have to be aware of:

[Cornell University :: New Students :: Transfer :: To Do List](http://newstudents.cornell.edu/transfers/todolist.html)

Look at the things that we have to do on July… :)

I haven’t received my book though… Hopefully it will come soon…

All incoming students have to do it…but transfers don’t really need to write the essay 0:-)

Any new news??

what happens if we don’t read the book and don’t write the essay?
the penalty?

You will get asked about the book in your freshman writing seminar and look like a fool for not being able to provide an intelligent response.

It’s only 189 pages. Read it. The first chapter is quite good.

I haven’t received the information for my transfer credit yet… -___- nor have I received the book… :(

the book comes in the orientation packet they send you. i think i got mine last week…

I haven’t got my orientation packet either… >.< I guess I will just wait…

Don’t worry, you should be getting it any day now!

Has anyone else still not received his/her book/orientation packet? I haven’t. I’ve gotten everything else though (I think). :frowning: I’m getting kinda worried.

Also, does it come in the mailbox or do they deliver it to your door?

i haven’t received it either … :S
i just hope i get it before i leave …

I haven’t received it either, so I emailed them and they said they’ll send out another one (probably using express mail or fed-ex).

I haven’t received it either… :frowning: I emailed them, but I didn’t get any reply. I’ll just send the email again.

Can you guys list the things that you have received so far?
Thank you.

I second fri2nds04

also, kartrider360, can you please post the email address you emailed? thanks lots!

Everything that has been sent so far is listed here.
[Cornell University :: New Students :: First-Year :: In the Mail](http://newstudents.cornell.edu/first-year/mailings.html)

everything that was mailed, minus the C.U. Student Handbook and Lincoln At Gettysburg is online at [Cornell University Orientation](<a href=“Tatkon Center for New Students | Student & Campus Life | Cornell University”>Tatkon Center for New Students | Student & Campus Life | Cornell University)

I still don’t have my orientation packet!! I called the person in charge of mailing them and what he suggested was that I buy the book in a bookstore or look for it in a library. What he doesn’t realize is that I live in Costa Rica and it’s very unlikely that I’ll find the book somewhere in here… I asked him to please send me my packet via Fed-Ex and he hasn’t responded yet… what should I do?

Amazon.com or half.com or somewhere else… That’s one way… Although you may have to pay the shipping (which is like $3.99 while the book itself can cost you less than that)…

yeah, I thought of that too… but then again, the postal service here in CR is absolutely terrible, I seriously doubt the book would arrive before I leave :(

Regarding the online courses about illegal downloading and alcohol:

Does anyone know how to access them? I seem to have lost the papers.

Also, is there a deadline to complete them?

Thanks!
